Why mysterious? 2 simple reasons, either there is no information or there is mostly the negative information about Africa. We may know a lot about it, but maybe nothing accurate at all. Finding more information led me to extensive studies, project work, and interaction with citizens from every corner of Africa. Read my observations.

Workshop series> Unpacking Urban-ism: Are Southern Cities adapting to Climate Change?

In this master class, Sumetee Gajjar, shared adaptation research and practice from 4 Southern Cities (Durban and Cape Town in South Africa, Dar es Salaam in Zanzibar and Mexico City) using a city systems framework. Learners were encouraged to extend this framework to Bangalore and reflect upon the merits and challenges of applying such a frame to motivate climate adaptation in Indian cities.

Project duration:  August 2008- September 2008 Description: The International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth (IPC-IG), Brazil is a global forum for policy dialogue between developing and emerging countries around innovations for inclusive growth. Through the  UN Volunteers website(onlinevolunteering.org), 6 volunteers from 6 different nations (India, South Africa, Netherlands, Kenya, Argentina, USA) have been selected to work on the short duration project, ‘Research Contacts in SOUTH AFRICA: Research Centers’ I planned the distribution of work among the entire team, laid out an effective time bound plan and co-ordinate with team mates in different time zones in final report preparation.
