My letter to the China Radio International-Hindi
Translated into English paragraph by paragraph
नमस्कार मेरा नाम अंकित खन्डेलवाल हैं। शुरुआती दिनो मे चीन के बारे में सिर्फ़ इतना ही पता था, कि चीन की आबादी भारत से ज्यादा हैं एवं चीन की दीवार को विश्व के सात अजूबों में गिना जाता हैं। भुगोल मे चीन की बाढ एवं प्राचीनकालीन नदियो के बारे में भी पढ़ा। इतिहास की किताबो से ही भारत एवं चीन के पौराणिक सम्बन्धों के बारे में भी पता चला। उनमें सबसे रोचक बात बुद्ध धर्म का भारत से चीन मे प्रचार- प्रसार एवं चीन से ही दूसरे देशों (जापान, कोरिया) मे फ़ेलाव को लेकर थी। इसी कारण चीन के बारे में हमेशा ज्यादा से ज्यादा जानने कि उत्सुक्ता थी। इन्टरनेट सीखने के पूर्व मुझे चीन के बारे में ज्यादा कुछ पढ़ने को नही मिला।
Hello! My name is Ankit Khandelwal and I am from India. In early childhood days, there were only 2 known facts about China to me. First, its population is bigger than India and second, the great wall of China is included in the list of seven wonders of the world. In subsequent classes, it was informative to know about floods caused by rivers from ancient times, but yet they are well respected by Chinese citizens. Through history books, I got to know about historical relations between India & China. To me the most fascinating aspect was arrival of Buddhism in China and then taking China as a base to spread in Japan & Korea. These small information caught my curiosity to explore and know more about China. But before learning internet, I did not get much opportunities to study on this subject.
कुछ साल बाद, इन्टरनेट सीखने से चीन के बारे में थोडी बहुत जानकारी मिलने लगी। 2008 में ओलाम्पिक खेलो के दोरान मुझे पता चला कि चीन को उभरती हुई महाश्क्ति क्यों कहा जाता हैं। चीन से असली परीचय डेन्मार्क जाकर हुआ। अपनी आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए ढाई वर्ष मैने इस खूबसूरत देश में बिताए।
After learning Internet, I was able to get some information about China. During Olympic games of 2008, for the first time I heard the term ‘economic superpower’ for China. My first real introduction to China only happen after going to Denmark in the year 2009. I have spent 2,5 years in this beautiful country to pursue my higher education.
अध्ययन के दौरान काफ़ी चीनी सहपाठियो से दोस्ती हुई। आपसी वार्तालाप से मैंने जाना कि चीनी ओर भारतीय संस्कृति मै बहुत समानताए है। मेरे चीनी दोस्तो ने मुझे चीन के खानपान, लिपि, पारिवारिक मेलजोल, खेल-कूद, नव वर्ष के आयोजन, राजनितिक वातावरण एवं चीन मै हुए पिछले कुछ साल के विकास से भी अवगत करवाया। चीनी खाने को चोप स्टिक से पकड़कर खाने का अनुभव बहुत ही मजेदार था। उसके बाद तो मैं नियमित रुप से चीन के बारे में पढ़ने लगा।
Lot of Chinese students became my friends during studies. Through our conversations, I got to know some similarities between Indian & Chinese culture. My Chinese friends informed me about the cuisine, writing script, family structure, sports, new year celebrations, political environment and recent economic growth in China. It was hilarious to learn eating Chinese food with chop-sticks. After such a good experience, I started to study about China on regular basis.
पिछले कुछ महीनो से मैं चीन के बारे मे हार्वड विश्वविधालय के ‘चाइना’ ऎक्स विषय का अध्ययन कर रहा हुँ। इसमे चीन के 5000 वर्ष पुराने इतिहास, विभिन्न धर्मों के विस्तार, कविता लेखन, चीनी लिपि के विकास के बारे मे पढ़ने को मिल रहा हैं। इस विषय के पाठयक्रम मे चीन के पुराने राजवंशो (सोग, हान, ताँग इत्यादि), प्राचीन चीनी रहन- सहन एवं शिल्पकला को काफ़ी नजदीक से जान पा रहा हूं। इस विषय में जगह-जगह पर चीनी वर्णमाला के शब्दों का भी उपयोग किया गया हैं। इस वजह से अजनबी सी लगने वाली चीनी भाषा भी अब अपनी लगने लगी हैं।
From past few months, I am studying more about China through an online course ‘China-X’ offered by the Harvard University. I am getting chance to read more about 5000 years old Chinese history, expansion of different religions, poetry writing and gradual development of Chinese script. Syllabus covers old dynasties (Song, Han, Tang etc), ancient cities and architectural beauties of that time. In this course, Chinese words are used in many places along with their meanings. अनिल：आगे लिखते हैं…..चीन के बारे मे खोजबीन करते हुए मैं २ साल पहले ‘चाइना डेली’वेब्साइट तक पहुचा। तब से मैं इसका नियमित पाठक बन गया हूँ। प्रतिदिन कुछ मिनट पढ़ने से चीन के बारे मे मेरी जानकारी काफ़ी बड गई हैं। इसमे कोई दो राय नही हैं कि चीन 21 वीं सदी की एक उभरती हुई आर्थिक महाशक्ति हैं। दुनिया की २० प्रतिशत आबादी इस देश मे निवास करती हैं। आज के प्रतिर्स्पधात्मक समय मे इस देश को करीब से जानना मेरे लिये व्यक्तिगत एवं व्यापारिक दोनो तरीके से काफ़ी लाभदायक साबित होगा, ऎसा मेरा मानना हैं। मेरे अब काफ़ी चीनी मित्र भी हैं। हावर्ड द्वारा पढ़ाए जा रहे विषय से अब में चीनी सभ्यता के बारे में भी काफ़ी अच्छी जानकारी रखता हूँ।
While searching for more information, 2.5 years ago, I have reached at the website of ‘China Daily-English’. From that time on-wards, I became a regular visitor on it. Just a few minutes of daily reading increased my knowledge about economy, culture, business deals, political situations about China. I have also interacted with lot of Chinese people and even helped some of them learning my mother-tongue Hindi through Skype. There is no doubt in my mind, that China is a growing economic superpower of 21st century. Approximately 20% of world population resides there. In today’s competitive world, knowing China more closely will help me both personally and professionally. Today, I also have lot of Chinese friends and also possess some better understanding of Chinese culture.
चीन के बारे में इतने सारे तथ्य जानने के बाद मैं ‘चीनी’भाषा का अध्ययन करना चाहता था। ‘रेडियो चाइना’की हिन्दी वेबसाइट पर कुछ सरल चीनी भाषा के ‘वीडियो’सुने तो पाया कि चीनी एक बहुत ही अलग प्रकार की भाषा हैं। काफ़ी कुछ पढ़ा था कि चीनी भाषा बहुत कठिन होती हैं। पर मेरा मानना हैं कि यह थोडी अलग तरह की भाषा हैं, इसलिए इसमें दक्षता हासिल करने के लिए भविष्य मे काफ़ी मेहनत करनी पडेगी। वर्णमाला की जानकारी की हासिल करने मैं सब्से ज्यादा समय व्यतीत करना होगा। मैंने पिछली दो विदेशी भाषाए (जर्मन, स्पेनिश) अंग्रेजी की सहायता से सीखी थी। मैं चीनी भाषा को हिन्दी की सहायता से सीखना चाहता था। मेरी यह खोज मुझे ‘सी रा आई हिन्दी’तक ले आयी। ‘सी आर आई’पर चीनी भाषा सीखने के कई विक्ल्प दिए गए हैं। यह देखकर मेरी खुशी का ठिकाना नही रहा। अब कुछ ही महीनो के पश्चात मैं भी कुछ चीनी वाक्य बॊल सकुँगा। अगर सब कुछ अच्छा रहा तो शायद में कुछ वर्षो मे अपने चीनी मित्रो के साथ वार्तलाप कर पाउगा।
After knowing many facts about China, I wanted to study Chinese language. I have listened few language lessons and realized that this is a slightly different language than others. Though many people described this as a most difficult language in the world, I believe it just need more time. Through my initial analysis, I think majority of time will be required to understand the Chinese letters. I have tried to learn previous 2 foreign languages (German, Spanish) with the help of English. This time I wanted to learn any other language through Hindi. My journey to find the proper material brought me to ‘CRI Hindi’ webpage. I was delighted to see lot of options of learning Chinese on this website. I hope to speak few Chinese sentences within few months. If things go well, may be after a year or two, I will be able to communicate with my Chinese friends in their own language.
चीन के बारे मे भारतीय नजरीये से शायद ही कभी लिखा गया हैं। यह मेरा सपना हैं कि मे कुछ समय चीन मे बिताउ एवं इस खुबसुरत देश के सामाजिक वातावरण का अच्छे से अध्ययन करूं। ताकि, बाद मे इसे बाकी भारतीयो तक पहुँचा सकु। मुझे उम्मीद हे कि मेरा सपना भविष्य में जरूर पूरा होगा।
Not much has been written about China. It is my dream to visit this beautiful country and understand more about the social environment. Then it will be possible for me to convey something to my fellow Indians to know our neighbor in a much better way. I hope, my dream will be fulfilled soon.
